Every week I’ll be interviewing and spot-lighting local women-owned businesses that I love and that inspire me. This week I had the opportunity to interview, Naomi, of Natural Magic.
- Tell me a little about you!
Hi! My name is Naomi Vanderford. I am married with a 2 year old and another little one on the way! We live about 30 minutes outside of Omaha in a small community and we adore it.
- Where are you located?
My business is located at 14216 Pierce Plaza Omaha, NE 68144. I have been a massage therapist for 8 years now and I absolutely love what I do! I got started with massage therapy when I was 19 years old.
- How did you get started and why massage therapy?
I come from a very loving and affectionate family. When I went off to college for my first year at UNL, I went through a mild depression that I couldn’t quite figure out. One of my high school friends had mentioned that I was probably missing out on the physical touch and affection that I was so used to at home. When I left UNL, I decided to take a tour of the local Massage Therapy college. I decided to take a leap and try it out! I’m very lucky to have found my passion at such a young age. I truly believe that human-to-human contact is so important for everyone.
- What service do you offer that is perfect for mamas?
I love working with prenatal clients and new mothers! I know the struggles of pregnancy and motherhood and it gives me such pleasure to know that I am helping bring some comfort to those experiencing the physical and emotional challenges of motherhood.
- If you were gifting your best friend a session with you what would you get her?
If I were to gift my best friend with a session, I would add some nice aromatherapy if they were interested and make sure to bring out the warm towels for the feet. I know how soothing and relaxing it can be to have these specialties added to the session.
- What benefits does a massage offer for moms?
Massage can offer so many benefits! Some of them are; pain relief, improving mood and lifting depression, reducing anxiety and stress, and can also ease insomnia.
- What is their experience like with you?
I have had so many mothers come in, so excited to be there, knowing they will experience some relief. I try to make the room and table as comfortable as possible. I create a warm inviting space for the mothers and provide the best service that I can!
